Resources

The Fellowship is committed to providing necessary resources to its Fellows

  • Baptist Health, in collaboration with its program, ensures institutional resources are in place for effective implementation and support of its programs.

​

  • Baptist Health, in conjunction with the fellowship program, ensures that support services and systems are in place to minimize fellow work that is immaterial to educational goals and objectives, and that fellows’ educational experiences are not compromised by non-physician service obligations.

​

  • Baptist Health commits to provide learning environment that support fellows’ education, high quality and safe patient care, quality improvement, and scholarly activities. 

​

  • Concerns about the work environment may be communicated confidentially to the Program Director (PD), Designated Institutional Official (DIO), or the Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC) through any of the following mechanisms:

​

  • MIDAS (Medical Information Data Analysis System) reporting system

  • One-on-one meeting with Faculty Mentor

  • One-on-one meeting with Program Director

  • One-on-one meeting with DIO

​

  • Support and dedicated time for the Program Director to effectively carry out educational, administrative, and leadership responsibilities, as described in the Program Requirements.

​

  • Support for core faculty members to ensure both effective supervision and quality fellow education.

​

  • Support for professional development applicable to program directors’ and core faculty members’ responsibilities as educational leaders.

​

  • Support and time for the Program Coordinator to effectively carry out responsibilities. Resources, including space, technology, and supplies, to provide effective support for the Emergency Medicine Fellowship Program

​

  • Ready access to adequate communication resources and technological support.

​

  • Ready access to electronic medical literature databases and specialty-specific and other appropriate full-text reference material in print or electronic format.

​

  • Provide learning and working environment in which the fellows and faculty members have the opportunity to raise concerns and provide feedback without intimidation or retaliation, and in a confidential manner, as appropriate. The fellows and faculty members are provided with multiple tools and forums to raise concerns and provide feedback. The fellow and faculty members can report any concerns
